The La Crosse area club threatened in the first and second and came up with six runs in the third. It added three in the sixth and one more in the last of the seventh before the time limit expired. Fink stopped the Menashans on six hits, two each by Michalkiewicz and Ferry.

Henlev 3 1 1, Jim Henley 1 1 0, Papenfuss 3 2 1, Perch 1 0 0, Fink 0 0 0, SAUK CITY The Menasha Macs were unable to recover from a six-run third inning by Coon Valley and, dropped a 10-5 decision in the National Baseball Congress state tournament here Saturday The Macs, who were making their first state meet appearance since 1969, had a 4-0 lead at the time of the Coon Valley outburst. They scored three times in the first inning on a walk to Mark Hinske, Dave Michalkiewicz's fourth home run of the season, an error and a single by Dan Ferry. They put runners on base via a walk and a single by Michalkiewicz in the second but a double play removed Coon Valley pitcher Steve Fink from additional difficulty. Terry Vindhurst slapped his fourth homer to lead off the third inning. The next two hitters went out but Dan Ferry doubled and Bill Gierke walked.

They were standed on first and second. Chuck Abel homered with two out in the fifth to conclude the Menasha scoring. It was his first circuit clout of Flying Scot leaders NNYC, second Bob Slocum, Minneapolis, third place; Bud. Dick, Neenah, fourth place; Bill McCormick, Madison, sixth place, and Joel Ungrodt, Fond du Lac, seventh place. Scott Stokes, Chicago, the fifth place finisher was absent.

Totals-31-2-7. nine with a deuce, in the last of the sixth. Tungate hit two doubles, Jeff Miller homered and Hanley had two hits and drove in four runs for Neenah. Hanley was Neenah's starting pitcher but gave way to Cole in the sixth. Neenah had nine hits and five errors Waupaca seven hits and four errors.

Neenah pitchers walked nine. As a result of the weekend games, NEENAH Brian Tungate hurled shutout ball until the ninth inning in pitching the Neenah Legion baseball team to a 4-2 triumph over New London here Sunday afternoon. The Hawley-Dieckhoff Post, in its other start of the weekend, plaved to a 9-9 tie with Waupaca Friday night. The game was called after seven innings because of darkness. Neenah threatened in the first and second innings against New London, stranding two runners on base in each frame, but broke the ice in the third, scoring twice.

Dan Nordness singled, stole second and was driven home by Tom Hanley on a single. The latter swiped second and came in on Tim Cole's hit. Neenah recorded its final two runs in the fifth on a leadoff triple by Mark Miller, a walk, Tungate's single and a hit by Hanley, driving in his second run. Tungate was cut down at the plate. The hosts had single baserunners in the seventh and eighth segments.

New London had two hits in the second but the bases were empty when the inning ended. The visitors loaded the sacks in the sixth and had a runner on on third in the eighth. They finally scored in the ninth on two hits and a pair of walks. Tungate allowed seven hits, walked six and struck out four. The Neenah team didn't commit any errors.

The Twin Citians netted 10 hits off Steve Fredericks, who struck out nine and walked three. New London made one error. Miller, Tungate and Hanley all registered two hits. Against Waupaca, Neenah scored two runs in the first and second innings, three in the third and two in the fifth. Waupaca came up with singles in the second and third, two in the fourth, three in the fifth and tied the score at mers, Midway Archery, four; and Linda Herbst and Kristi Sell, Kuehn's, and Michele Skall, and three, Getting two were Ann Swiecichowski, Amy Wiese and Judy Riese, Kuehn; Kelly Shend and Wendy Weyenberg, Midway; Lea Ann Ebben, and Kristi Oelhafen and Cindy Zimmers, Midway; Debbie Pawlowski, Bausch and Lomb, and Siri Luther, Tammy Kuse and Brenda Kuse, A and W.

PALISADES BOYS Todd Lanning had 10 strikeouts as Home Furniture beat Tiede Construction, 29-3. Suburban Construction downed Kools, 12-8, led by Kevin Peterson and Greg Liter with two hits. Doug Schmalz had three and Ken Woldt and Steve Clement two for Kools. Troy Jameson doubled in winning run as Ken Weber's scored four times in the final inning for a 7-6 win over Regency Realty. He also hit a single.

Todd Blob made two hits for Regency. Pond's hit eight extra base hits, including three triples by Mark Board-man, in a 17-1 win over Goss Auto Body. Dave Gunderson and Lou Chudy also had two hits for the winners. Steve Meitzen had two for the Cards. NEENAH A HARDBALL The Conant Cubs beat the Conant Yankees, 8-5, led by Phil Chronis with two home runs and two other hits. Chad Hart's three hits led the Yankees. The Reds nipped the Bluejays, 5-3, and the Cubs won over the Dodgers, 10-4, with Buteleski of the Cubs hitting a home run. NEENAH MIDGET Scores included Reds 19, Cubs Pirates 8, Twins Reds 13, Braves 6 and Cubs 12, Cardinals 11 at Conant; and Pirates 19, Cubs Reds 11, Brewers 4, and Twins 7, White Sox 6.

Bob Bahlman cracked two doubles and a triple for the winners. Paul Thome also had three hits, one a homer. Tom Hanley and Jeff Miller also homered. Barry Larson posted two of Mid-American's five blows. Baron's scored two runs in the first and fourth and singles in the second and third in its win over Office.

Office over J.J. Keller. Trader's tallied five runs in the second and fourth and sixth in the fifth. Keller's had a six-run first on only two hits. Tootie Johnson had two hits for Trader's while Debbie Grose homered and she and Sue Westenberger both made two hits for the Keller team.

The teams had deadlocked for first place in the final standings with 6-1 records. After being blanked in the first tv.o innings, the winners chalked up two runs in the one in the fourth, three in the fifth, one in the sixth and two in the seventh. Town Club collected its four on three hits in the fifth. It made its other two safeties in the fourth. Kim VandenBoogaard had two hits for the winners, who received nine walks.

They only had seven safeties. None of the players on the Town Club team managed more than one hit. Sabre Lanes boosted its record to 9-0 with a 27-1 win over Rainbow Bar in a Menasha American Women's League makeup. The winners made 10 runs on four hits in the first frame and seven markers pn four in the second. Karen Sengstock hit a home run and Peg Ham and Sue Kosiorek both had four hits for Sabre.

Rainbow contributed a dozen errors and several walks. Walks and errors also played a significant part in Trader's 16-11 triumph Heyl, Dick lead NNYC in regatta NEENAH Neenah-Nodaway Yacht Club skippers gain two places among the top seven finishers in the Midwest District 'flying Scot Regatta on Lake Winnebago Saturday and Sunday. First place went to Fritz Hanselman of Ephriam while Bruce Heyl of Apple-ton and Nodaway finished second. In other games, makeups of the July 6 reainout, first half champion Left Guard gained its first win by blanking Auto Parts, 8-0, and Hanson-Rickard beat Gait Construction, 14-9. Gas Hut tallied four runs in the fourth inning and two in the fifth in tipping Moxey's. The latter netted two in the first and loners in the second, fifth and sixth. John O'Brien posted three hits and Scott Sauer added two for G-H. Pete Harris and Bob Thome both had two for Moxey's.

Left Guard notched three runs in the third and fourth in toppling Auto Parts. Steve Bylow chalked up three hits and Jeff Krawczyk and Tom Wohlleber both had two. Auto Parts only managed two bingles. Hanson-Rickard struck for four runs in both the first, and second innings against Gait. The winners had 19 hits, including two homers and a double by Bruce Menning.

Craig Freund and Bill Kramer also had three safeties. Bruce Behnke and Jerry Gitter collected two apiece for Gait. Details of the Kuchenbecker-Grace game weren't turned in. Tops with 570 set MENASHA Sis Laurin's 224 game and 570 series led the recent Vacationers Summer Women's Bowling League. The cost is $1 for residents and $2 for non-residents. The price does not include the carnival rides. The second trip will be to the Milwaukee Brewers-Cleveland game at Milwaukee and a visit to the Milwaukee Zoo on Aug. 4. The cost is $3.25, for residents and $4.25 for non-residents.
