have been announced. Housewives Help Out OSHKOSH Retail stores industries that produce Christmas products have again enlisted the help of thousands of Oshkosh women. Housewives and single women who are not normally a part of the labor force are in stores and plants to help out and earn extra Christmas spending money for themselves. Packing, mailing, clerking and wrapping their way through the season, part-time employees at Johnson Hill's Department Store work an average of 20 hours per week. Pete Rakitzke, assistant personnel manager, reports that Johnson Hill's sells about as much merchandise from October to January as it does during the other seven months of the year.

The store hires from 25 to 30 extra workers. Other retailers are taking on extra clerks, usually housewives who find the extra cash a real bonus for their own shopping. Victrylite Candle Co. hires an Miss Kleinschmit and Mr. Bouchette OSHKOSH The engagement of Miss Donna Kleinschmit to Michael P.

Oshkosh housewives are responsible for keeping the frantic holiday rush under control. But after working hours they too will step to the other side of the counter and join the thousands of busy shoppers filling their lists for a merry Christmas.
