"It's our big fund raising venture of the year, and we try to make it a beautiful memorable evening for people of this area," said Mrs. Ruth Behmer Kraut, a member of the group.

Mrs. L. N. Rueping, who has been a member of the group for over 50 years, remembered the early years when the ball was held in the Armory, "It was such a cold, cheerless place and we worked very hard to get a beautiful effect.
